If your family faces challenges, you are not alone: every family has challenges! And in a fast-moving place like South Florida, stress among family members can build quickly. Family therapy is a place for children, teens, and parents to connect, communicate, and work through difficulties together.
What Family Therapy Helps With
Whether a family member is struggling with school stress, anxiety, or behavioral issues, the whole household is impacted. Family therapy can help your child or teenager feel understood while improving communication and strengthening relationships at home.
Families often come to me for help with:
- Improving the parent-child bond
- Frequent arguments or conflict
- Behavioral concerns at home or school
- Communication difficulties
- Jealousy, tension between siblings
- Co-parenting after separation or divorce
- Major life transitions (medical issues, moving)
- Worry, anxiety, or depression affecting family life
There isn’t always something “big” going on to start family therapy. Some families come to me simply because they want a calmer, more connected home.
My Approach to Family Therapy
As a therapist specializing in children, teenagers, and parents, I offer a welcoming, judgment-free environment in which to help families. I incorporate my knowledge of child development, play therapy, and relationship dynamics to bring about effective change in family members. I use practical strategies and tools in our sessions to help families improve communication, practice empathetic listening, and develop the important skill of validation.
Sessions may involve the whole family, parents and children together, or smaller combinations, depending on what will best support each family’s goals. My role is to create clarity, help each person feel heard, and guide families toward healthier, more effective patterns.

What To Expect
Family therapy sessions last 50 minutes. We begin by identifying your goals and the specific challenges your family wants to address. If children will be included, I might spend a few sessions engaging them in rapport building from a play therapy perspective. From there, we work collaboratively to create positive, realistic changes.
You can expect a safe space where everyone’s voice matters, strategies you can use right away, support tailored to your child or teen’s developmental age, and effective tools for communication and conflict resolution. You can also expect to laugh and have fun as you engage in hands-on activities designed to bring your family closer.

Serving Families Across South Florida
I offer therapy to families in the Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, Parkland, and Boca Raton area. I also help families throughout Palm Beach County and Broward County. I provide telehealth as an option for families who are unable to attend in person and see clients virtually throughout the state of Florida.
